This mini-project was one of my first endeavors back into film photography, in 2016–2017. Whether these rolls were expired Kodak Aerochrome respooled for 35mm or something else entirely, I still do not know. The film was fiddly to work with, grainy, sensitive to any light, and unpredictable; it had to be loaded in complete darkness, shot in bright sunlight (with a yellow #12 filter), and developed by a recommended lab due to its sensitivity to any hint of light. Not my best work, but I’d like to think that the rarity of color infrared film makes these otherworldly photographs nonetheless worth sharing.
