Inhabitants of Botswana are called Botswanan. Though some use Batswana (bat meaning people of) to refer to the country’s inhabitants, its use refers specifically to the Tswana ethnic group—the dominant, though not only, ethnic group in Botswana. Since Botswana is not a homogeneous country, prefer Botswanan unless referring specifically to the Tswana people.
