Dream

Dream (to fantasize, as in during sleep): dream > dreamed > dreamed

Although both dreamed and dreamt are acceptable past tenses, dreamed, the regular past tense, is four times as common and should be preferred. Some say that the alternative past tense, dreamt, lends a more literary air, but I know no evidence that supports this claim.
